It’s far too easy buying dozens of different items geared towards toddlers and switching them out shortly after for something better or more useful. Recently in my home I’ve been making lots of swaps with tableware, cleaners, and clothing, and also trying to go through the mountains of toys we have and donate what we no longer use. These items below have been constants in our home for at minimum a year and a half now and I would highly recommend them to anyone who will listen.

  1. Glass Toddler Cups – We have the Elk and Friends ones and these are incredibly durable with the silicone sleeve it has around it. I originally only had plastic and silicone cups and tableware but made the transition to steer away from plastic to avoid the added chemicals and micro plastics. I do like silicone tableware, but after a few uses it sometimes tastes like soap is stuck to them so I stopped buying them too. Glass is just so much easier to clean and a much safer choice in my opinion.
  2. Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Treater – 10/10. This works amazingly well for so many types of food stains I have no idea how. Especially when they’re munching on fruits and the drippings are getting all over their clothes, spray this on and the stains literally disappear before your eyes. It’s like a cool party trick for moms.
  3. Potty Training Seat – While I love the aesthetic of the little toilet seat toppers that blend in with the toilet perfectly, our bright purple potty seat with the step on it is so much more useful. My 4 year old (and even my 2 year old who’s starting to potty train) can easily set it up themselves and they don’t need to hold onto the toilet bowl or feel so high off the ground with the handles and step attached to it.
  4. Little People Barbie Dreamhouse Playset – This one has been going STRONG for the 3.5 years we’ve had it now between both children. Highly recommend anything Little People, I have dozens of them laying around my home at any given time. There are so many different playsets to choose from for boys and girls and they all occasionally occupy my entire living room floor, my kids are obsessed.
  5. Mini Kitchens – We have this one from B. toys and my kids have not gone a single day without playing with it since we got it 2 years ago. I’ll swap different food sets in it occasionally to keep it exciting, but even if i forget to do that for some time they still find so many different things to do with it. It’s so hands on and I love how creative they can be with it.
  6. Foam Climbing Blocks – We got this one for my youngest for her first birthday and her and her older sister are still enjoying it over a year later. Now they like to use it as a stage to sing to everyone on, or a platform to jump off of and give me heart palpitations. It’s been surprisingly engaging overtime.
